Galway County Council invites applications from suitably qualified persons for the position of Beach Lifeguard for Summer 2012.

Age Limit:                  Not less than 17 years of age on 1st May, 2012

Qualifications:         RLSS OR  IWS Beach Lifeguard Award or equivalent

Applicants possessing Rescue 4 Certificate and preparing for Beach Lifeguard Award, may apply.  A knowledge of Irish is desirable but not essential.

GALWAY BEACH LIFEGUARD APPLICATION FORM

  • Limerick County Council

Invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to form panels for the above posts.

Candidates must:

(a) hold an  RLSS or IWS beach lifeguard award or equivalent qualification

(b) be not less than 17 years of age on 1st April 2012

(c) have knowledge of resuscitation including Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation

Other desirable qualifications: S-VHF Certificate, First Aid, ISA Powerboat Level or higher, Manual Handling, Occupational Health & Safety.

All candidates will be required to undergo a test in swimming ability, resuscitation and rescue techniques conducted by an examiner nominated by Irish Water Safety.  Employees will be required to maintain a daily training routine unless they are engaged in lifesaving operations.

Rate of pay: €409.50 per 35 hour week/€245.70 per 21 hour week

Lifeguards will be required to work irregular hours to coincide with tidal conditions and bathing periods, including split shifts, work at weekends and particularly over holiday weekends.

Successful applicants must be available for duty for the June Bank Holiday weekend and full-time for the months of July and August 2012.

Lifeguard, Dollymount Beach (Temporary)

Dublin City Council invites applications, on the official form, from suitably qualified persons who wish to be considered for inclusion on a panel from which temporary vacancies for Lifeguards, for Dollymount Beach, may be filled. The positions are temporary and the successful candidates will be employed, subject to satisfactory service, on a fixed term contract basis, for the 2012 summer season.

Panel of beach lifeguards are required.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons for employment as Beach Lifeguards for the 2012 Summer season.

All candidates will be required to undergo a pool test. Proposed date for pool test – Sunday, 15 April 2012 in Ballyshannon Leisure Centre, Co. Donegal. Candidates may be called for interview carried out by Donegal County Council.

Period of Employment: Lifeguards required for the bathing season which runs from: – 1 June 2012 – 15 September 2012 on a part time and full time basis.

Remuneration:
Weekly Wages Range: €490.23 – €511.11 per 39-hour week.
Starting pay for new entrants will be at the minimum of the scale.
Rate of remuneration may be adjusted from time to time in line with Government pay policy.

Panel of beach lifeguards are required.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons for employment as Beach Lifeguards for the 2012 Summer season.

  • Age limit: Not less than 17 years of age on 1st April 2012.
  • Qualifications: RLSS or Current Irish Water Safety Beach Lifeguard Award or equivalent.
  • All candidates will be required to undergo a water test
  • The Garda vetting process will be carried out in respect of all applicants.

Completed applications and completed Garda Vetting forms must be forwarded not later than 4.00 p.m on Friday 2nd March, 2012, marked Private and Confidential, to Siobhan O’Keeffe, Administrative Officer, Human Resources Department, Clare County Council, Áras Contae an Chláir, New Road, Ennis, Co.Clare.

  • RNLI Northern Ireland

To work as a lifeguard for the RNLI you must hold and maintain a valid surf lifesaving qualification. Please ensure you have read all of the essential information before you start your application.

In 2012 The RNLI Lifeguards will patrol approximately 163 beaches around the coast of Ireland, Wales and England.
They have produced a number of videos detailing our lifeguard fitness and competency tests to give you a better idea of how you will be tested. Here are the beaches for patrol.
